	A Note about this quiz in general: This is the first in a series of "2nd edition" All-Time Teams quizzes as I explained in the note. While intended to be more accurate, you may find that not so. A Note about the Bench: The bench is not necessarily the 4 best non-starters but is the best possible bench such that, in a hypothetical game, any starter could be either directly or indirectly (other starter(s) change positions) subbed out of the game. I have also altered by bench methodology based on complaints some people had (specifically, regarding how much/little a player had to play at one position to be considered available for that position).

	I'm not trying to be a jerk, but any time you allow your opinion to come into play, the quality of a quiz suffers. You're best off just stating verifiable criteria, and sticking by them. A good way to do this for this quiz might be something like "highest career WAR as a Yankee at each position." State that a player is eligible at a position if he has played more games at that position than at any other in his career, period. Top 5 starting pitchers, top 5 relievers, second best catcher, second best 1B/3B, second best 2B/SS, 4th and 5th best outfielders, and best player not otherwise listed, regardless of position. You get the idea - be clear about your inclusion criteria, make them reasonable and verifiable, and leave your opinion out of it altogether.

	I agree with deej. One of the pleasures of most quizzes is discovering something that you didn't know before, or had forgotten -- a prerequisite being that the answers are arrived at through some defensibly objective means. Taking a quiz to see how well your opinions dovetail with those of the author, no matter how well-intentioned, seems to me to miss the point somehow. It should probably be titled "My All-Time..." etc etc.

	If you read the notes, doesn't it say that he is using WAR, specifically the new version of BR WAR from earlier this year? Where does opinion come into play?

	This is anything but a "My All-Time Yankees" quiz. The concept is that I am redoing my original "All-Time Teams" quizzes except using the new version of WAR. If you must know, here is how I make each quiz: Pitching staff: Best 5 starters, best 7 pitchers with at least 2 seasons with the team of relief experience Lineup: Best possible lineup where each position has someone who (according to B-R) played that position as his primary position in at least 3 seasons, or in 2 seasons but also played there often in at least 1 other season. Bench: Best possible bench such that any starter can be either directly or indirectly subbed out of the game. To be able to be a reserve at any position, a player has to have played there often in at least 3 seasons with that team, or have played that position as his primary position in 2 seasons, but not played there often in any other seasons. In the original quizzes (with WAR 1.0), I only required one season of having played a position significantly, and many people complained. Any reference to "often" or "significant" time at a position refers to a B-R.com qualification, not one of my own. If you find any contradictions between my methodology and any of the 2nd-edition quizzes, please let me know.
