The bench is not necessarily the best 5 non-starters but is the best possible bench such that each position has a backup plan.

Biggio caught just 15% of his games played. Putting him at Catcher is lame. Why bother with your disclaimer about the bench when you are putting starters out of position?

For the purposes of this series, Biggio qualified for C, 2B, LF, or CF, with 2B as his 1st position, catcher 2nd, LF 3rd, and CF 4th. Ultimately, the second choice at catcher was the worst of the 4, so he was put at catcher. That is how this quiz was made and how all the others in this series are being made.

Biggio was the best catcher the Lastros ever had. They moved him to 2nd base because of his speed, and to save his knees. If he would have stayed behind the 'dish,' his career would have been VERY short. I am so glad they moved him. At the time, I thought they were crazy because he was the best! Good quiz!

Thank you, superspurjm! That was the point I was going for!

Biggio still leads the team in WAR at catcher, even though he was only there for a few seasons. Just shows how bad Astros' catching has been. I thought Alan Ashby was still 2nd, but Ausmus was there forever.
