	$WAR was invented by High Heat Stats to determine the truly most valuable players. By taking the total WAR of all pitchers in 2011 (443) and the total salary of all pitchers (some huge number), and determining from those a conversion factor of $2.62M/WAR, we can get the WAR each pitcher should have produced. Then, subtract this from actual WAR to get "$WAR", the "extra" WAR that would be unexpected for that player's salary. Batters have their own conversion factor, as do all players in different seasons.

	@mraithel13: I've been thinking about that. Unfortunately, High Heat Stats only listed 2011 data and 1998 batters data as examples of how this would be done; a 2010 quiz, for example, would require me to calculate the necessary conversion factors AND then using that to determine every player's expected WAR, AND then subtracting actual WAR minus expected WAR to get $WAR, AND then ranking them. While I may look into this, I'm not very good with Excel. For now please enjoy this quiz and the Most Overpaid Players of 2011 by $WAR quiz.
