	There's absolutely no way there's 43m Christians in the UK. Chruch attendance is less than a million and only 23% call themselves christian (as opposed to 37% who have 'no religion')

	it all depends on what is considered "Christian". I think the term here is overly general, as in not Budhist, Muslim or Jewish.

	@RichN95- I don't know where your numbers come from, I've always heard that some 75% were Christians in the UK, and Wikipedia puts it at 72%. By your stats, roughly 40% of the UK is Muslim, Jewish and Hindu, etc. THAT truly makes no sense.

	@RichN95: Just because Church attendance is low doesn't mean people don't still classify themselves as Christians. A lot of people say they are Christians because it avoids arguments. A lot of people do it because it conveniences them (it's amazing what some people can get away if they proclaim God is on their side). In the US, where this number does seem fairly accurate, and about half the country is fervent anti-abortion under mostly Christian grounds, a higher percentage of pregnancies end in it than most industrialized countries. I could proclaim myself as a Christian and it immediately counts; it's just a matter of what people want to say.

	Well the problem here in the UK (as I'm sure is the case in most European countries) is that they stated religion on birth certificates until very recently. Neither of my parents was ever religious and I've never had any Christian influence in my life or any desire to 'find religion' but I would be counted in this stat as Church of England by default. Religion stats are always very hard to gauge since it largely just shows how countries classify their citizens.

	@bigsnax69: As opposed to the Christians that ARE savage barbarians? Certainly there are plenty of savage Christians out there... if you're going to be mass murderers, I don't suppose it makes a difference what religion you call yourself, that makes you a barbarian & Jesus, Mohammed, & the Buddha probably would not approve.

	bigsnax....idk, if you meant to imply that anyone who isn't christian is a savage barbarian, but that's sure how it sounds...and its comments like that that make the rest of us Christians look ignorant and hateful

	I live in the UK and I'm busy trying to work out where these 43 million Christians are hiding. Think I met one once... not sure though.

	@JohnJF & crover- I agree with you completely. I ticked the C of E box at the last census, but I don't believe in god. It's probably the census that the quiz's figures come from. I think actual practising Christians (i.e. have at least more than a vague belief) are in the minority.

	Yeah, there are not 43 million Christians, as in people who go to a Christian church, in the UK. Probably about a million to two million total, and a significant proportion of those will be non-ethnically British immigrants or their descendents.

	Your source has (slightly) different numbers and several different countries. I realize that you ask for 2007, but I doubt that 6 million christians suddenly appeared in Indonesia between 2007 and 2010 to put its population at 28 million.
