| I did some research and Lang, the sociology professor who devised this concept, considers Salem to be a distant suburb of Portland. The quiz is based on the 2000 Census, and before 2003, Salem was part of the Portland metro area. Salem is now its own metro area. Because the quiz is based on Lang's research, I'm going to keep it on the quiz and not switch it to a bonus. Sorry for the confusion. If I had more than 200 characters I would explain this in the game note, but I do mention that this study was done only up to the 2000 Census.
