Including MLS? And minor leagues and NBDL are professional leagues that employ professional players, so your title is off.

New England Patriots and Revolution play in Foxborough not Boston, who's pop is 16000 so that should be on IMO.

New Jersey Devils and New York Red Bulls both play in the Newark, NJ metro area, which has about the same population as Buffalo.

I would hardly call MLS a 'major league'. I know that it has Major League in the name but if you're going off of that basis than you might as well include Major League Lacrosse(please don't)

What's interesting & a little surprising, and what threw me off, are the relatively-low metro rankings of San Antonio (7th largest city population) and San José (10th), both bigger cities than Detroit (11th) or San Francisco (12th). The difference in ranks seems to be for different reasons: for San Antonio because it's relatively isolated from other populous counties, cities & towns; and for San José because it's crowded next to the San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont metro area.

Neither team in Buffalo plays in or near Niagara Falls. The Bills used to play near there but play in Orchard Park now and the Sabres play in downtown Buffalo. If anything it should say 'Buffalo-Orchard Park' not 'Buffalo-Niagara Falls.' Being from Buffalo, I don't associate myself with the filth that is Niagara Falls and neither should this quiz.

@RichGaluszka - It is METROPOLITAN area. I hate to burst your bubble, but you are lumped in with Niagara Falls. Nothing you can do about that except get in a barrel and go over the falls.

Thanks, quizer500, for using metro areas. I think they reflect city size much more accurately than city limit populations.

and @dralcoffin, i agree because its not like only people from the city are fans of these teams. people throughout the whole metropolitan areas for these teams mostly root for these teams so they should be included too
