| ON LYRICS: The lyrics used are all from the album liner notes, with a few exceptions. First of all, I have followed Born This Way's standard of only counting a stanza once if it's repeated. (That is to say, individual repeated lines within a verse count every time. Repeated stanzas, like choruses, only count once. Repeated stanzas that partially change count, in their entirety, every time they're different.) Secondly, I've normalized certain words that appear in several different forms in the liner notes (for example, "cuz" and "'cause" both count together toward the "'cause" entry on this quiz). All -ing verbs abbreviated to -in' are also normalized to their -ing form. Her stutters (as in Just Dance) are eliminated, and her obviously exaggerated words (like "hoo-ooookaaaaaaaaa-er" for "hooker") are condensed to their actual form. Most of the nonsense words are condensed to a few common forms ("ra", "ma", "ah", etc.) although I may not have caught all of them.
ON TRACKS: For the purposes of counting words, I used the standard US editions of The Fame, The Fame Monster, and Born This Way, without bonus tracks. That means this quiz covers 36 tracks: Just Dance, LoveGame, Paparazzi, Poker Face, Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), Beautiful Dirty Rich, The Fame, Money Honey, Starstruck, Boys Boys Boys, Paper Gangsta, Brown Eyes, I Like It Rough, Summerboy, Bad Romance, Alejandro, Monster, Speechless, Dance in the Dark, Telephone, So Happy I Could Die, Teeth, Marry the Night, Born This Way, Government Hooker, Judas, Americano, Hair, Scheisse, Bloody Mary, Bad Kids, Highway Unicorn (Road to Love), Heavy Metal Lover, Electric Chapel, You and I, and The Edge of Glory. |
