| @OprahWinfrey and @TotalPotato: I certainly feel your pain, but trivia is trivia. You are (just as I am) less likely to know trivia germane to another nation's interests, but that makes it even more trivial, and oh-so-much-more appropriate. A few in Sporcle's beloved "Letter Game" series feature a category "Premier League Clubs (Ever)." I had no idea what that meant until I Googled it (and consequently learned something). When that category comes up in quizzes, I know I'm screwed, but I give it my best go, trying every sports team mentioned in Monty Python's Flying Circus. I don't get 100%, but I am occasionally delighted that having something like "Wolverhampton Wanderers" stuck in my head actually paid off in some small way. That said, those aren't answer-in-order quizzes, so it's not that an apt a comparison. I think that if you (and I) want to really master this stuff, we all need to learn more about the others' sports stuff. YMMV |
