Was it me, or was there a lot of answers that started with Au and Ea? By the way, fantastic quiz puckett86. If I could make it an editor pick, I would.

Can't believe the 500-home run one is so low guessed! Great quiz, really makes you think in a different way.

Top ratings from me. :) Funny how the mind works sometimes. I got Ouagadougou in 1 minute, yet it took me 10 minutes for Australia. And I took the quiz while watching the Aussie Open tennis tournament. *blush*

The category of "big 4 locations" is confusing enough without the answer being a city that would NEVER have been one I'd guess as a big 4 location. Not in a "that was tough" sort of way, more like I don't think that's a great clue.

MLS teams? Seriously? It's like the quiz is purposely alienating everyone possible. A soccer team alienates most Americans but making it an *American* soccer team alienates everyone else.

I just can't believe more people got Ouagadougou than Earthquakes. Just goes to show how much we LOVE soccer here in the USA! For the record, I got Ouagadougou and not Earthquakes (or Iodine, for that matter. The hard elements, fine, but simple old iodine, nope.)

great quiz, but i agree with wheatonbrando, the big 4 clue is really random and i'd never say oakland is a big 4 location. la, new york, boston, dallas, even miami i'd rank over oakland.

@thunderdan: "Big 4" refers to the big four SPORTS (MLB, NFL,NBA,NHL) not big four cities.

Wow, more people get Ougadougou than the Earthquakes. I can't say I'm terribly surprised, but it certainly dampens my hope and excitement for the league's popularity. BUT not as much as people like rct. If you really feel "alienated" by the mention of a team in a trivia quiz you've got some issues. With that attitude I'd be happy if you stick to the EPL or whatever your holy grail of soccer is and don't bother us with your needless antagonism again.

Completely agree with TheLuggage - in every quiz on Sporcle "Big 4" refers to the sports, it is making no reference to the cities. Which was why I was sorely disappointed to find an MLS clue. I was genuinely proud of myself for coming up with the other answers, and 1 bonus, but MLS is something I know nothing about.

@Twigglet - Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso, Burkina Faso isn't an alternate answer.

About the inclusion of an MLS team: I don't follow MLS either, but I once saw it on a quiz, got it wrong, and decided I would
learn
the teams instead of complaining about its inclusion. Also, Big 4 Locations is explained in the directions. That will explain why East Rutherford isn't an acceptable answer.

Interesting results. The sports questions were kind of guessed low including the renowned Henry Aaron. The MLS team was least guessed. So, you could conclude that people with good general knowledge of things like countries, elements, presidents, etc. aren't followers of sports. Especially given the number of comments about being confused by the Big 4 question. The timer could have said "All Day" and I would never have gotten the capital of Burkina Faso.

Missed out on all the sports questions, but got the rest of them. Should have pulled off the Oilers at least, considering that's my brother's favorite hockey team.

I'm okay with these quizzes being a little US-centric, but this one takes things too far - if you're going to have a football/soccer question, why make it an MLS team? And why base a third of the answers around American sports? Barely anybody outside of one country follows them.

The minute I saw abbreviations for the sports leagues, I stopped reading the question and went through all of the big 4 sports teams in my head. Completely missed that it said MLS, and I'm a soccer fan so I could have gotten that one.

I always thought "Y" was not always a vowel...Yemen, Young, etc don't really start with 2 vowels...but maybe I got lost between 3rd grade and here.
