@chugdrewchug247 It's a body of water. The city is Tampa.

part of me wanted to see at least a bonus for the Giants/Jets, but then I realized that you would then have to make bonuses for every team that plays within the metropolitan area, but not necessarily in the city. Good little quiz though, puckett.

It baffles me how many people on here think there is a city called Tampa Bay.

@ sportsrefuge Why does it "baffle" you? Because you know it? I guess everyone should know it then.

I agree with worldatlas on this one, many people, myself included, first heard of tampa bay from sports and thought that it was a city.

You should toss in some bonuses of team names that no longer exist. Like the Tri-City Blackhawks (now the atlanta hawks), or the Brooklyn Dodgers. You could even make bonuses out of the 'Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim' (thats a pretty ambiguous name) or any Washington team (when I was little I thought they played in Washington state).

What's cool about this list is the variety (Carolina is two states, New England is a region, Tampa Bay is a body of water, Golden State is a nickname)

Good quiz. Should only be a minute long.

Agree with having 'Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim' as a bonus - that name is pretty ambiguous/vague as to where the team actually plays

@llswright...except it wouldn't be like that at all. Because the Bronx is actually part of New York while Anaheim is not part of Los Angeles. It's not even part of Los Angeles County. Anaheim is in Orange County. Anaheim has nothing at all to do with Los Angeles. It's just an entirely different place that's sort of nearby. The only reason for the new name is that Arte Moreno wants to try to market the team as an LA team. Lol @ "it tells you the area of the city." Did you think they were in the Los Angeles area of Anaheim, or the Anaheim area of Los Angeles?

A more accurate analogue would be the New York Giants/Jets of East Rutherford... they take it one step further by getting the entire state wrong.

@src91695...green bay is a city in wisconsin. but to the quiz...give me a break on carolina. no, it doesnt say NORTH or SOUTH, but that explicitly refers to two states

I was grown before I knew Tampa Bay was not a city. I happened to be down there and saw the city was called Tampa.

@GoVolsGo...I think the spirit of the quiz is in the title (Vague Team Locations). The instructions at the top are only there to explain, and it would have been awkward to write something like "Can you name the 'Big 4' locations that don't give the _specific_ state or city where the team plays"

I take that back. After typing the "awkward" way, I realized that it would probably be better than the current explanation and take care of GoVolsGo's complaint.

@GoVolsGo: New England explicitly refers to six states.

contrary to the commenters ideas, this quiz is factually correct. however it is fairly pointless to make a quiz containing less than 8 answers at least

@Hooby And why is that? Trivia doesn't have a certain minimum number attached to it. There are many quizzes on this site with less than 8 answers, and some are great.
