| I don't have much experience with bar codes... but I do have a lot of experience with numbers. So, when I saw the bar code I had to find, I converted it into a 7-or-8-digit number with a space being 0, a thin bar being 1, and a thick bar being 2 (so ▌▐▐▐▌▐▐ would be 10112011). The first few I tried without this conversion gave me a lot of trouble, because I was viewing it visually, and most people (myself included) aren't well-trained to parse lists of visual information. Once I started viewing numerically, however, my speed and accuracy increased dramatically. |
