You mean "bread"... ;-)
(I'm not actually picking on that and I think that clue can remain as it is.)

"brie" rhymes with "zed?" I'd no idea.

MghtyRoach, if that wasn't a joke, then Brie is pronounced 'Bree', and that happens to rhyme with z, which is pronounced 'zee' by Americans. (We British pronounce it 'zed', jolly good show)

Yep, I pronounce 'Z' as 'Zed' too, but I clicked on to it anyway. Good quiz my man

As an American, I've always been mad that we don't say Zed. That's so much cooler than Zee

Brie rhyming with Zed took me a second too, but I had more trouble with Laiche, which I would pronounce like 'lesh', rather than to rhyme with 'H'. Different dialects always make these rhyming games tougher.

Having the word laiche is a terrible choice. First off, I'm guessing most people, including me, have never heard and/or seen the word. There aren't a lot of words that rhyme with h, so you may have wanted to put that one last, so you don't kill the entire quiz right there. Even if you just start typing in all the letters of the alphabet, you use up way too much time. I think you need an example in the description.

After being taken 4,500 times, only 24% made it to the end of this quiz. It would be interesting to see if that shoots up in the near future. Oh and squiggsy, I won't vote you down for your idea, but I don't agree with you there.

So much harder than I thought it would be! Took me 4 tries - it was fun! I didn't know the word "Laiche" either but eventually I got it!

I think quizzes ought to have some kind of age adjustment factor. My brain just doesn't function fast enough to get very far with this kind of challenge. I couldn't even make it halfway.

Wow, I touched a nerve by saying it was a minute too long. It just felt like more of a blitz than anything. We all know the answers -- it's just a matter of thinking of them quickly. For what it's worth, I would have ended up two short if it were only 1:00, so I wasn't bragging. It simply would have been more fun if time were more of an issue. That's all.

it doesn't really matter if laiche rhymes with h. it's the only letter left so you should just know to guess it.

Did the rhymes seem a little arbitrary to anyone else? Like, why doesn't American English 'Z' rhyme with 'free?'

Athena13, it's because they wanted the first one that hasn't been mentioned. Free = (B,C,D,E,G,P,T,V,Z)so B is first.

Curious as to what version of English has "through" rhyming with "o." In American English "o" is pronounced "oh" and would rhyme with a word like "throw" whereas "through" is a homophone of "threw" and would rhyme with a vowel like "u."

@eldavio - It's actually 'though' not 'through'. 'Through' rhymes with 'w'

The thing about Zed is that it always reminds me that "Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead." Which makes me think that Zed is something that is said in the south. Of course it isn't, but there you have it.

@djibouti -- "Zed" is definitely a billion times cooler than "Zee" (especially when Jeremy Clarkson calls the car a NISSAN ZED on Top Gear). However, "Zee" allows for the end of our alphabet song to rhyme... and thank god for that or our (America's) literacy rate would be significantly lower than it currently is. "A B C D E F G.... X Y ZEEEEEEEEEEd".

You really need to change it so that all the different letters of the same rhyme work for all the different words of the same rhyme. Its really annoying to have to figure out if its b, c, d, e, g, p, t, v, or z for every word that rhymes with them.

I've never heard of ZED or BRIE.... Maybe use words that are a little more common throughout the entire English-speaking population.
