So how many other people casually dismissed the possibility of Obama being an answer without thinking at all about how "a" is actually a rather uncommon last letter for a last name in an English-speaking country?

Shouldn't 'Washington DC' be on the list, or have I missed another world capital ending in C?

Two ways of looking at it - the city is just Washington, but if you did consider "DC" it stands for District of Columbia. Plenty of other capitals ending in N and A.

great quiz! it's amazing what people get depending on their nationality though, only got 2 from the top 7 guessed answers, but 9 overall (so in 91st percentile). As a Brit, one day i'm really going to have to learn US states and presidents to have a proper chance at sporcle quizes...

@gig: On several quizzes in the past couple of days there has been this complaint. There is a glitch on Sporcle. Try refreshing the page or using a different browser. Hopefully this will be fixed soon?

It's hard to believe that only one element ends in S and one in T; there's so many of them. I was trying to think of ones that might end in Q, V, X, or Z. I guess most of them just end in N.

Surprisingly difficult. I kept going through the alphabet, trying to think of rare letters. But that approach backfired; might've been easier to simply list all the countries, states, etc.

^If you look at a full list of the category (for example, we'll use the U.S. States), you'll see that three states end in a letter that no other state ends in. If you read the instructions, it perfectly explained what a unique letter was. I got all of the presidents, states, and elements. Didn't get any of the countries or capitals though.

Really surprised Obama is the first President with a name ending in A. It seems to be such a common letter.
