Just to clarify: The stats were taken from 1920-2010 so if a pitcher
had some of his career prior to 1920, but still fit the criteria
afterwards, he would be included on the list. However, that
was not the case for any pitcher - Pete Alexander was very
close though.
Pedro Martinez, who is technically still active, is
the pitcher closest to accomplishing the feat. He has
2827.1 IP and a career 2.93 ERA.
