	i've just finished reading Seabrook's "Magic Island" a really great book about Haiti and Voodoo, and i still did rubbish on this quiz, didn't even get the capital!

	Two mistakes in this quiz: The population in millions is 9 or 9.03, not 9,035,536 (think about it, that would be 9 trillion people!) Also, the official motto in the Haitian constitution is "Liberte, egalite, fraternite"just like the French.

	If taking this quiz teaches you anything about the country and its wonderfully proud and joyful people then its a great thing that it is featured today. I had the opportunity to do some missionary work here in the 90's and was glad to see it get some love from the Sporcle community.

	One thing that I connect to Haiti, but of course isn't a very beautiful part of their past is the Tonton Macoutes. I don't know, if it's a good idea to be added though, but would be something very country-specific nonetheless. Same as Duvalier could be added for being a notorious dictator in the past, but also not sure it would be the right place.

	When I started this, my first thought was the earthquake and the president who dealt with it. I remembered the phrase "Sweet Micky", and then thought there was no way that was right or an answer. I was proven wrong. Great quiz!

	You should have accepted Gonaive and Gary as opposed to Garry, we are not all going to put Anglicised versions of everything. I used French and marked wrong several times. Tres mort

	Dear psubball1, I think you should have "Haitian Creole", or at least "(Haitian) Creole" in your list of answers, even if you don't demand "Haitian Creole" for the answer from the quiz's contestants. There are literally zillions of creole languages in the world. A creole, or creole language, is one which has often/usually/necessarily developed from a pidgin language, tends to assume vocabulary from its parent languages, and has been nativised by children as their primary language.
