| The Rand is the official currency of SA - Krugerrands were specific coins made bearing Paul Kruger's face on one side, and were never the official/only currency in SA, although they were legal currency at one stage. Today, they are collectors' items. We've been using the Rand since 1961, replacing British currency following independence form the UK. On another note, yes, we call it soccer; but we never refer to our rugby as 'football', so calling the game soccer isn't because we don't want to confuse it with 'rugby football'. Great quiz, you really have a lot of good SA facts here! |
