| For the current president, the valid answers should be "Enrique Peña Nieto", "Peña Nieto" and "Peña" (with and without the tilde on the "n"), but not "Nieto". In Spanish compound surnames, you can use the father's and the mother's surnames (Peña Nieto) or only the father's (Peña) but not only the mother's (Nieto). It's similar to the US presidents quiz, where valid answers are "John Fitzgerald Kennedy", "John Kennedy" and "Kennedy", but not "Fitzgerald". (Of course, Sporcle can't fix that; the problem is that the "accept last names only" feature assumes that the name that comes last in writing is the most important. That's not always true, like in the Chinese "Mao Zedong" where the surname Mao comes first and not last). |
