	The Phoenix was the first currency of modern Greece. It was only used for four years but is still technically a former currency and should be accepted.

	Excellent country quiz. I few minor issues. I think that Turkey should be accepted for Ottoman Empire. Although the official name was the Sublime Ottomon State, the rest of the world referred to it as Turkey and all the maps in English of that time refer to the country as Turkey. (N.B. parts of Greece were controlled by the UK and Italy at the time of independence). Alexander was Greek (see the Greek colony quiz for an extensive debate on this subject). There are modern Macedonian Greeks who live in the Greek province of Macedonia. Pireus us technically the third largest city in Greece despite being part of the same conurbation as Athens.

	Could you accept "Hellenic Democracy" for the official name? That's a more straightforward translation of "Elliniki Dimokratia," actually.

	About Alexander the Great: for the ancient Greeks it was simple. If you spoke Greek you were a Greek; if you didn't speak Greek you were a Barbarian. So the reasoning was: everybody who speaks Greek is a Greek. Alexander speaks Greek. Therefore, Alexander is a Greek. And there weren't further arguments...

	To the people clamoring for Turkey as an answer to the independence question - is it too much of a stretch to think of Ottoman if Turkey doesn't work? Many times in life, we have to deal with our assumptions being rejected and we have to dig a little deeper or think laterally...
