	I liked the challenge of this one, there were about 6 that i struggled to get, but did get them eventually. I agree that it might be easier to list the spells and have to guess what they do.

	Great quiz - love the Harry Potter trivia. It would be tricky to flip it around (ie have the incantation and people have to guess what it does) because there are lots of ways to word the effect of the spell, but only one way to word the incantation. Although even the effects can be ambiguous - I got stuck on the Half-Blood Prince's "sectumsempra" for "spell that cuts something open" (it cut open Draco, didn't it?) and kept thinking "episkey" for a spell that undoes damage to an object (Tonks used it to repair Harry's nose - though I guess it's more for undoing damage to a person!)

	i wanted the cutting spell to be relashio for some reason. it took me a few tries to get right, and i am an avid hp fan. however, i don't ever remember seeing repello. is that just in the movies or something? hmmm...

	Having played the Harry Potter card game was a great help with this quiz. If it Wasnt for that i never would have got diffindo, rictusempra or repello. And teeth one was impossible.

	Repello is definitely never used in the books. I'm 100% sure. I think it may be in one of the video games

	I'd say even a hardcore fan would have trouble with at least five or so of these. Considering how many other spells could have been used in this quiz, though, most of these were pretty good choices. A good number of them I remember from the movies rather than the books. I guess there's something about hearing the spells in an accent... Also, I woulda included Sectumsempra in there. That was the other one Harry found in the book with Levicorpus, right?

	Dang, only got 17 off the top of my head. I'd fail my OWLS. I wish some more spells had been included ("sectumsempra," "aguamenti," and "nox" are the only ones that come to mind at the moment, but there are tons) for a really sprawling, comprehensive list.

	oppungo should be accepted as well as avis - they do the same thing. repello is not a charm. other than that - stupid spelling got me down - i thought it was desuageo, not densuageo, and rictumspempra, not rictasempra....

	I think "reveal your secrets" should be accepted for aparecium. Snape said it in the third movie and it worked.

	@smreidy113: Not so. Non-verbal spell could be accompanied with any spoken words if the caster so chose, and Snape was definitely advanced enough to be able to cast aparecium non verbally.

	sylar and bhart: oppungo was the spell that hermione used to set the birds on ron when he and lavender walk into the empty classroom that she was crying in in half blood prince. the spell to create the birds is avis, which i believe ollivander proved during the weighing of the wands in the goblet of fire. and g. wiggy is right, the spell is confundo, the charm is the confundus charm. TWO DAYS PEOPLE!

	there are 168 diffirent spells used in the series but i think naming all of them would be just too hard. to AND BACK: the clue was confusing but sectumsempra is basically for human use whereas diffindo is for objects

	The fact that the top two most got answers are both Unforgiveable Curses is ironic. I got eighteen correct. I'm rather disappointed in myself. I kept trying to do 'confringo' for fire. I'd forgotten 'incendio'.

	For most of them I knew the name but not the spelling, or I knew the name but not the incantation, for spell to cut things open I put sectum sempra from the half blood prince! Snape kills Dumbleydore!

	@chelupa - Actually, Rictusempra IS a tickling charm. In the 2nd book Harry uses it against Malfoy in their duel and it explicitly states that Rictusempra is a "tickling charm." Rictusempra creating a snake was an invention of the movies, but it's not canon. nerd moment
