	It's interesting, but I'm skeptical of some of the categories. For instance, A Beautiful Mind was based on the book by Sylvia Nazar (see the IMDb; she gets writing credit), not on a magazine article.

	This is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure why you say that these statistics are for 1977-2010, when they clearly are not. I'm pretty sure that Gone with the Wind made most of its money before 1977. Just delete that note and your answers should be accurate. Other issues are really issues with the source, not with you, such as A Beautiful Mind mentioned above. I was confused by the Toy Story movies not considered based on a Toy, but I guess the two mentioned were based on one specific toy line, not just all toys in general. I'm not quite sure though how they could include the GI Joe movie but not the Transformers movies in that category. Or what about the My Little Pony movie or Masters of the Universe?

	Good idea, but a lot of these movies could be put in multiple categories, but The Blind Side is the only one you used twice. For example, both Titanic and The Blind Side fit into real life events and Transformers was a toy along with a TV show. Also, I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter grossed more than the movies you have for based on books.

	@everyone: i completely agree with what you are saying. a lot of things do seem questionable. i got this all from the above linked source which is usually a pretty legit website, but i didn't carefully look over the data, as i put the quiz together pretty quickly. clearly there are some debatable answers. i think im going to rework the data and make any necessary changes to make the quiz more "accurate" and reasonable.

	How is "The Sound of Music" not on there for musicals? The domestic gross given on Boxofficemojo (which is, I think, adjusted for inflation, although I'm not sure) gives it about twice as much gross as My Fair Lady (which came out about the same time, so inflation is irrelevant, anyway). I certainly refuse to believe it made less money than "The Best Little ****house in Texas."

	the-numbers.com lists "The Sound of Music" as based on a book/short story, and in that category it places 6th behind Gone With the Wind and the 4 Disney movies that are listed on this quiz. The original Broadway musical was based on a book, the autobiography of Maria Von Trapp, so I guess it could be hard to say if the movie was based on the original book or the stage adaptation. In most cases, the-numbers only lists movies in one category, with the apparent exception of The Blind Side.

	First off very good idea for a quiz! However, I do question some of the choices made by the source... For example, why are only two listed on the site for movies based on the Bible? For example: The Prince of Egypt (Disney Animated), Jesus Christ Superstar (loosely based, but still...), The Last Temptation of Christ (starring Willem Dafoe), The Nativity Story, Salome (with Rita Hayworth), and I'm sure there are bunches more I'm forgetting-- That aside, I still had fun taking this...

	As well as ranking 6th in book/short story, I would argue that "The Sound of Music" should be in the based on real events category, I'm sure it certainly took more than at least 2 of the 5 mentioned.

	This quiz is SUCH rubbish it's unbelievable. Your facts are shockingly wrong. In terms of films based on a book/short story, these Disney offerings are massively incorrect for instance. Get your facts straight.

	The main characters and story line (the romance between them) in Titanic are fiction, set against of a back-drop of real-life events. But it is not 'based on' real-life events, it just uses them as part of a fictional story. That is like saying any movie set during WWII is based on real events, since the war actually happened. Also, the Blind Side is based on a book -- maybe the book was inspired by a magazine article? But it wsa the book that got the movie made.
