| As a native Spanish speaker, I would like to argument a few things. For instance, "paciente" really is the most accurate word for patient. It can mean a medical patient and a person with patience based on context exactly as it would in English, so I suggest you leave it as such; my unfamiliarity with most of these pictures made me type that one out as "the sick man", which is the most literal translation for enfermo. For A Beautiful Mind, I'd choose Una Mente HERMOSA, since "bonita" is closer to pretty than beautiful. For the Dances With Wolves one I'd keep it as Danzas con Lobos, since marketing for translated movies varies GREATLY from place to place, so it was quite probably advertised as that somewhere. "Terms of Endearment" translates literally as Términos de Cariño, but personally I'd put it as Condiciones de Cariño, since it's more accurate and nowhere is there an indication that "Palabras" (words) should be used. For The Hurt Locker, I'd put it as El Casillero del Daño, more accurate than the one you have, which means The Place of Pain. For Ordinary People, you can use Gente Ordinaria rather than Normal for closerness... and finally, I suppose you got no translation for Slumdog because you attempted to translate the entire word. Slum dog becomes something like "perro de barrio bajo", so I'd suggest translating that one as Millonario de los Barrios Bajos or something of that fancy. |
