"You should accept "The Legend of Zelda 2" For Zelda II." No he shouldn't. The game is "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link". With that said, he should not accept just "link" for that game. Good idea for a quiz, but poorly executed.

Wow normally I love IGN but Castlevania II was horrible. Don't get me wrong the others were great but the stupid day and night thing where it pauses for 45 seconds every 5 minutes and the tornado where you had to crouch down holding an item. I would agree with this list other than that one. Great Quiz though.

I actually hate all the Castlevania games on the NES, with the second being the most tolerable of the three. That said, I typed "zelda ii" and it didn't come up, then typed "zelda 2" and it worked. Might want to accept the ol' Roman numerals there.

@mockenrue, if you typed the full name with the roman numerals, it would have given it to you, but i added the short form as well to be parallel with "zelda 2"

with no super tecmo bowl, this list is bunk... and while not originally produced for the NES, tetris is another glaring omission...

No Ice Climber is hardly surprising. I don't know of anybody who had even heard of the game before Melee. It's not great. How do I always forget Contra on these things.

Can't believe I forgot DuckTales. I should turn in my "Child of the 80's" license now... Surprised not to see Tetris, Dr Mario, or Duck Hunt in the Top 25.

I can't believe I forgot the Castlevania games, and Mega Man, too. I also had Blaster Master, Bubble Bobble, Excitebike, and Bionic Commando, and I didn't list any of them, either. It's been too long.

Great to see more Top X quizzes. Have to question the lack of Battletoads on the list, and add another "No Tetris!?" to the pile.

yeah, the lack of Tetris is a huge fail. i know people who've both kept and replaced their old NES consoles, JUST to play Tetris. :p

I think that this shows that even with the technological advancements in gaming, NES has to still be considered the best (or top 3) console ever. No other system has around 40 games that could be considered in a top 25 list. There are not many "bad" NES games and most are actually a lot of fun. Sure, the graphics of the new systems are nice, but nothing will ever truly beat out trying to start the NES, it not working, and then having to blow in the game to make it work...ah, the good days.

While many of the games mentioned could arguably be on this list they do make the top 100. Double Dragon II is #83, Ice Climber makes the list at #79, Duck Hunt fires the zapper at #77, Super Tecmo Bowl clocks in at #53, Dr. Mario is #51, Battletoads makes the list at #40 and Tetris (Tengen) is on at #48 (Ninetendo's official version doesn't make it).

After entering Duck Hunt, Tetris, and Dr. Mario and getting no results, I quit immediately. Without those three, this quiz is a waste of time.

Four of the answers I got were only because I recently played Super Mario Crossover. My first non Mario attempt was Battletoads, #40 is underrated.

I have to second the claim for snake rattle n roll.. and by the way, what about nintendo world cup?? the soccer game you could fire zick-zack shoots and tackle the opponents to the extent that they were just laying on the pitch for the remainder of the match?? at least in the top 10 for me!!
