I'm wondering how the sitting president can be considered a paid political pundit.

On the whole, the idea that Palin, Clinton, Giuliani, Gingrich, Albright, Bush, Greenspan, Gore, Rice, Cheney, and Powell are political pundits seems dubious as well. David Axelrod currently has a job in the White House, too.
