| Excellent idea for a quiz, but your source is garbage. Getting an accurate umber is exceptionally difficult, because "combat aircraft" is a loose term. Do all aircraft count, or just fighter/attack/bomber? what about helicopters? Some nations assign combat helos to the Army (like the US and most of NATO), while others (like Russia) assign attack helos to the AF as well. The number given for the USAF is close to their total fighter/bomber/attack, but the USAF has nearly 6,000 aircraft of all types - by far the "World's Largest Air Force." The Russian AF by comparison has somewhere close to 3,500 *total* aircraft, of which less than half are fighter/bomber/attack.
