Great quiz! I like it. Seems Unsworth and Xavier were more obvious to me than Anelka and Torres..

How can van Nistelrooy be N and V?

i'm with roseman - nistelrooy is on here twice - if he's N then viduka surely qualifies as the top V scorer. and i cannot think of another n if he's the top v, maybe kevin nolan?

Good quiz! Well done to David Unsworth - only defender on the list!

If van Nistelrooy qualifies twice then so should Le Tissier, and he should be the answer for T. I don't think he should, and van Nistelrooy should only qualify for V. @random_cloud, Kevin Nolan would indeed then be the answer for N, with 39 goals.

I had made this a month earlier, and only counted van Nistelrooy as N, with Mark Viduka as the V.

Robbie Keane, although playing for Celtic, is just on loan so is still registered to Tottenham in the Premier League, so technically is correct have the asterisk next to his name.

David Unsworth had the biggest thighs in the history of mankind, unfortunately they were that heavy he could only run at 5mph. Take a mean penalty though!

@y2jdilemma: Sorry, the dates show I made this five days before you. As for van Nistelrooy, when I last updated it he was only under N. This must have been an oversight when it was published, but has now been amended.

Charles, Abel Xavier was a defender too, hence only scoring two goals. ;-)

does anyone know who the top scoring player with surname beginning with N is ? because Van Nistelrooy begins with a V the last time i checked.

@GoodTucker: the "van" of Ruud van Nistelrooy, known as a tussenvoegsel, isn't part of the surname in the Netherlands (although it would be in Belgium), so old horse face is rightly filed under N.

Got them all except Lampard! Although I had to rack my brain over Henry...all I could think was Hasselbaink. Got Unsworth/Euell/Beattie straight away though. It's funny how the obvious answers don't just come to you.

I know it's annoying to comment about your own score, but I got 6 correct and 5 were guesses based on popular last names. Did not expect that. I'm prepared to be voted down. Do as you wish.
