Great quiz! I like it. Seems Unsworth and Xavier were more obvious to me than Anelka and Torres..

Liked it. Good to see the great pairing of Quinn - Phillips in there...

Unsworth got 38?! Quinn and Dublin evaded me :/.

How can van Nistelrooy be N and V?
Apr 16th, 2010 at 07:53 GMT
i'm with roseman - nistelrooy is on here twice - if he's N then viduka surely qualifies as the top V scorer. and i cannot think of another n if he's the top v, maybe kevin nolan?
Apr 16th, 2010 at 09:05 GMT
Good quiz! Well done to David Unsworth - only defender on the list!
Apr 16th, 2010 at 10:24 GMT
If van Nistelrooy qualifies twice then so should Le Tissier, and he should be the answer for T. I don't think he should, and van Nistelrooy should only qualify for V. @random_cloud, Kevin Nolan would indeed then be the answer for N, with 39 goals.
Apr 16th, 2010 at 10:29 GMT
I had made this a month earlier, and only counted van Nistelrooy as N, with Mark Viduka as the V.

The K isn't playing in the Premier League at the mo. Well at least not the English prem.
Apr 16th, 2010 at 11:44 GMT
Robbie Keane, although playing for Celtic, is just on loan so is still registered to Tottenham in the Premier League, so technically is correct have the asterisk next to his name.
Apr 16th, 2010 at 12:34 GMT
Cannot believe I didn't get Anelka but got Johnson and Beattie.
Apr 16th, 2010 at 12:47 GMT
Kept trying to spell the Chinese guy who played for Charlton. Xheng zhi/zheng zhi/various others. Damn Abel Xavier and his crazy hair.
Apr 16th, 2010 at 15:53 GMT
i forgot henry...kill me now
Apr 16th, 2010 at 16:12 GMT
David Unsworth had the biggest thighs in the history of mankind, unfortunately they were that heavy he could only run at 5mph. Take a mean penalty though!
Apr 16th, 2010 at 16:13 GMT
Great quiz. Can't believe I missed Yorke & Wright
Apr 16th, 2010 at 18:01 GMT
Great Quiz and two Irishmen made it, woohoo!!!
Apr 16th, 2010 at 20:59 GMT
@y2jdilemma: Sorry, the dates show I made this five days before you. As for van Nistelrooy, when I last updated it he was only under N. This must have been an oversight when it was published, but has now been amended.
Apr 17th, 2010 at 19:55 GMT
Arsenal fan and didn't get Wright. F**k!
Apr 17th, 2010 at 23:18 GMT
I thought "M...?" and "McAllister". Seriously no idea why. Really gutted that I missed Giggs though; I love that man (but hate Man Utd)
Apr 19th, 2010 at 22:39 GMT
Never thought Abel Xavier would be in a top goalscorers quiz!
Apr 20th, 2010 at 13:43 GMT
did it with 5:26 remaining, took me a while o think of Euell, Ince, Johnson and McAllister though :)
Apr 20th, 2010 at 19:29 GMT
very good quiz
May 13th, 2010 at 16:14 GMT
Charles, Abel Xavier was a defender too, hence only scoring two goals. ;-)
May 27th, 2010 at 10:08 GMT
LeeC - well spotted, you're right!
Aug 6th, 2010 at 13:17 GMT
very good idea for a quiz so you know euell is blackpools captain and is back in the premiership for next season so he may need an asterix
Aug 19th, 2010 at 02:02 GMT
Excellent quiz - top marks
Aug 21st, 2010 at 16:35 GMT
does anyone know who the top scoring player with surname beginning with N is ? because Van Nistelrooy begins with a V the last time i checked.
Oct 27th, 2010 at 00:30 GMT
@GoodTucker: the "van" of Ruud van Nistelrooy, known as a tussenvoegsel, isn't part of the surname in the Netherlands (although it would be in Belgium), so old horse face is rightly filed under N.
Nov 13th, 2010 at 12:28 GMT
Q is higher-scoring than T?!
Jan 3rd, 2011 at 15:40 GMT
carlos tevez has 61 premiership goals.
Jan 19th, 2011 at 09:47 GMT
Got them all except Lampard! Although I had to rack my brain over Henry...all I could think was Hasselbaink. Got Unsworth/Euell/Beattie straight away though. It's funny how the obvious answers don't just come to you.
Feb 6th, 2011 at 17:06 GMT
Nice quiz, although Tevez has just recently overtaken the man who you have for 'T'
Apr 8th, 2011 at 14:26 GMT
how did i not get owen torres n fowler?
May 12th, 2011 at 07:38 GMT
I know it's annoying to comment about your own score, but I got 6 correct and 5 were guesses based on popular last names. Did not expect that. I'm prepared to be voted down. Do as you wish.
