In Michigan, only the four Upper Peninsula counties that border Wisconsin are on Central time. The Eastern time zone extends as far west as the western reaches of Ontonagon County, which is only about 130 miles east of Duluth, MN. Towns in that area such as Bergland, Ewen, and White Pine have sunset in late June, with daylight savings time, just before 10:00 p.m. due to their position very far west in the time zone (between 89 and 90 degrees W longitude) and northerly location. |
