If the Arctic Ice disappeared, these countries have at least 1 point where it would be possible to sail due north to the North Pole, even if by passing through another country's territorial waters.

@Hidden Palace; Yes! I've also had a south one prepared since the end of May, but it has more than 60 countries on it and I know it is going to take me a few hours to check its accuracy before I go live with it, so I've sent this baby version out on its own first.

Is Spain from the Canary Islands? If so, it might me nice to point that out in the displayed answer? Cool quiz — really simple concept, but works well!

Spain is from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Denmark is not only from the obvious Greenland, but also from the Faroe Islands. I will add this info to the answers.

Somebody should do South Pole, that would be a much longer list...

@exackerly: I have prepared a South Pole (Antarctica) one, but it needs checking as it has over 60 countries on it and I need it to be accurate before it goes out.

Greenland's most easterly point is at 11.66 West, therefore Iceland (24.51W-13.49W) and Spain (The Canary Islands (18.13W-13.44W)) are not valid. Also Cape Verde (25.25W-22.68W), Senegal (17.53W) and Porgual (Madeira, 16.96W) are not. Ireland (10.60W-7.65W) and Morocco (17.09W-9.31W) are fine.

@simo + tkeene: Thanks, for some reason I missed the extreme north easternmost tip of Greenland and have now removed Spain and Iceland from the answers. I think I made an assumption with Iceland, and then perpetuated this with Spain. As Cape Verde, Senegal and Portugal were never in the answers, I've not done anything with this. Many apologies.

@Trazom: I've followed the same Sporcle standard used on the Countries of the World and Countries of North America quiz, which is to accept USA, but not US.
