| Hi, I created the quiz. The bonus answers were not included as 'nations that border Russia' for a reason: they did not fit the criterion of being a nation that borders Russia, in all the technical senses of those words. I included South Ossetia and and Abkhazia because they recognize themselves as autonomous, independent nations. They're bonus answers because they aren't nations, as recognized by the rest of the world -- although if a custom is established in recognizing them as such, they could eventually become nations. The United States and Japan were included because they share substantial international boundaries with Russia, although, again, they were not included as bordering nations because they don't share land borders. They were bonus answers for a reason, and I just wanted to reward people for thinking outside the answer box. |
