What does "very WWII" mean? This is not the "pilot's alphabet" it's the NATO phonetic alphabet for international radio communication, and it's used to this day. In WWII each country used similar but different spelling alphabets... This was codified in the sixties by NATO to make sure all the countries matched up.

Might be fairer to accept "whisky". After all, these are spoken, so the spelling shouldn't matter.
