This is interesting, but I'm baffled his, their, my and so on being called articles. These are possessive pronouns, not articles.

yeah, struck me as odd, too. I thought only English articles are 'a', 'an' and 'the'...

"National" was my first word as a baby, so that makes sense.
...my parents are weird.

I agree it's strange. The parts of speech are as categorized by the source, though, and I didn't want to mess with it.

I thought this was a great quiz, but "his", "their", "her", "my", "your", "its", and "our" are not articles. They are possessive adjectives. The main articles are "the", "a", and "an". The only other articles are "some" and "no".

Thanks for the feedback. I have changed "articles" to "articles/possessive pronouns" as these appear to have been categorized together by the source.

@oren0: Another simple solution would be to lose the 'Articles/possessive pronouns', and have two rows of three.

Great quiz idea, although surprised there is no 'adverbs' column.

How many people say 'national' in daily speech?!

You should have a section for adverbs. Also, "would" is the conditional of "will" so you should accept "will" as well.

I'd like to see what some other sources would say in their lists.

@kitimat88: I suspect this is an artifact of the source. It uses books, magazines, and newspapers since 1991, which I imagine results in politically themed words being more common than they otherwise might be.

@laminator11: I found the adverb list uninteresting. Most of them weren't things that people commonly think of as adverbs (up, so, out, and just are the top 4).

Read conjunctions as contractions...kept wondering why "can't", "don't", and "won't" weren't working. Oops.

I did fair in the five categories I worked on. I couldn't even begin to decide on the most frequently used nouns and adjectives. Seeing the answers, I probably wouldn't have come up with many of them even if there'd been just those two categories.

Okay, just one big mistake that I'm surprised no one's pointed out yet: the correct term for column five is possessive adjectives, not possessive pronouns.
