	Torino is the Italian name for the city, while Turin is the English name. It's either Torino, Italia or Turin, Italy. Since the rest of the game is in English, it should stay consistent.

	@Jason: multiple answers can be accepted. So the quiz could be set up so that, if you type "Torino", "Turin" appears in the 2006 box. I think it would be a good idea to do this and similarly for the other cities where English uses a different name to the natives (Roma, Muenchen and Antwerpen come to mind).

	This game needs bonus answers like Vancouver for 2010 and London for 2012. Otherwise, this is a great game.

	Since some future games have already been awarded, they should be regular answers and not bonus ones.

	The 1976 Winter Games were awarded to Denver but ended up being held elsewhere. And there are the games that were awarded for 1916, 1940 and 1944 but cancelled due to World Wars I and II. I think that until the event happens, it should be just a bonus.

	1916, 1940 and 1944 were all awarded to cities that either subsequantly held the games or had previously. The 1936 host for 1916; the 1964 then 1952 host for 1940 and the 1908, 1948, 2012 host in 1944. Same with the winter games. Incidently I believe 2012 is the first time that that city actually hosts a games they won in a vote.

	@Craig: actually the 1916 games were cancelled due to WWI and the 1944 and 1948 games were cancelled due to WWII. Although all the cities that were supposed to hold those games are listed elsewhere, they would be listed on here had the games taken place.

	I feel that Cortina should be accepted for Cortina d'Ampezzo, especially seeing that Garmisch and Squaw(!) are considered acceptable answers.

	1924 is brutal to spell. I find it amazing the contrast between large cities and small towns in my own country (USA) that I know nothing about.

	During coverage of the 2006 Olympics, everybody referred to the city as Torino. That should be an acceptable answer.

	Athens 1906 isn't included (they hosted a 10-year anniversary Olympics), but it's pretty trivial since it'd just duplicate the other two times it's on there.

	I love how no-one's got the Winter Olympic Cities in the main - although Squaw Valley, Albertville and Cortina d'Ampazzo are hardly that famous! As for Garmish-Partenkirchen, I knew it was somewhere auf Deutschland as the locals say, but sheesh! @Craig - There have been many games to win votes and hold the games eg. Beijing 2008, Athens 2004!

	Bonus answers: Vancouver 2010, London 2012, Sochi 2014. But when you guess London, it would be a real answer and a bonus so that would be kind of odd. And hopefully Chicago 2016

	I honestly don't remember the US coverage of the 2006 games ever referring to Turin...I only remember Torino. In fact I though I was going crazy and actually had to Google Torino in the middle of the quiz to see if maybe I was just mispelling it...and Turin didn't even come up in the first 5 results.

	South America and Africa have yet to hold an Olympic game. I think Brazil is hoping to win a bid for 2016.

	Got 32. Not too bad I guess. Spent most of the game trying to think of what city in Norway hosted the '94 games. I can always remember them games for the fact that Johann Koss won 4 gold medals in speed skating. That didn't help me remember the name though. :)

	Got 36, which I attribute to having grown up near Lake Placid, and always having been a winter sports fan. Most Americans just don't look forward to the biathalon the way I do :)

	Just an idea: This quiz would be so much more beautiful if it was rendered on a world map like a geography quiz...although Europe might be crowded with dots. But I'm sure the Sporcle proctors - spoctors? - will figure something out.

	@BluntDiplomat: the World map of this game could include a larger submap of Europe, partly lying over the Atlantic, Africa and Central Asia, since those areas never held Olympics anyway. Also, maybe Amsterdam 2028 could be a bonus answer?

	@TeabagYokel: I believe Craig was referring to the fact that 2012 is the first Olympics where London has been awarded the games by winning through the standard bidding process. In 1908, London hosted after Rome was unable to due to the eruption of Mt Vesuvius redirecting government funds away from the Olympic games, and in 1948, London was awarded the games by postal vote after they had won the rights to the 1945 games, which were cancelled due to WWII.
