	Good idea. You shouldn´t have Catalan listed as a dialect though, since it is a language on its own (and apart from that, an official language of the EU).

	Where's Spanish? And apart from that, I'm afraid this has the same kind of problems I mentioned at the Germanic languages quiz.

	Might want to indicate the locations of the languages in a less obvious way for some of these. Also, while it's strictly speaking not correct, it would be nice to accept Provencal for Occitan, since it's commonly known by that name.

	First, you should indicate in the title that you want dialects. Second, a great way to make it harder for dialects but not impossible is to sort the languages into columns (with Spanish on the top of one, French on the top of another and so on) and have all the dialogues of the language under the language in the columns. There would be no need for hints, as nobody's going to be guessing "Sicilian" without "Italian" and so forth.

	You should be careful; I think you'd offend millions of people by calling most of these "dialects." If you've ever seen written Catalan, for example, you'd know that it's not just a "dialect" of Spanish. You're also missing a few, especially if you're counting dialects and dead languages (Aranese, Dalmatian, etc.).

	latin is spoken in the vatican, so you could put that there instead of roman empire (dead) because its not dead

	Where is Picard? And Burgundian? Why doesn't "Provençal" count for Occitan? And I agree with what everyone has said so far: the difference between a dialect and a language is very subjective. I would say these are all languages here; Belgian French and Swiss French are examples of dialects.

	Valencian, spoken in the Spanish community of Valencia, is an independent language although some linguistics consider it a dialect of Catalan. Also Galician is an independent language recognized by Spain as a co-official language of the community of Galicia.

	you're missing monagasque, and I agree with the others, SO many of these are langauges all their own, such as lombard, occitan, catalan, sicilian etc... also! you are forgetting the small wallachian languages scattered throughout the balkan penninsula, such as aromanian, istromanian, and macedoromanian
