	It's very difficult to guess the movies just by the year, but I typed Theres something about mary in various ways and it didn't work. This may also be true of some of the others that have 0% guessed.

	If I added any other detail it would be too easy. I think There's Something About Mary wasn't appearing because of the apostrophe. The others appear fine.

	I disagree. Giving a director or a star or a line from the movie or anything makes it a lot more fun for people. Guessing purely by the year is too tough.

	this list is a complete joke. all its legitimacy was thrown out the second i tyed in caddyshack and it wasnt accepted. furthermore, animal house and ghostbusters are also conspicuously missing. im actually getting very angry about this.

	I'm fine with different senses of humor and everything, but including "There's Something about Mary", "Clueless", and "Election" on this list is completely insane. And while I liked both, putting Borat at 2 and Team America (?!) at 4 is just as bad. Among older works, "The Great Dictator" and "MASH" don't really deserve to be there, either. All in all, a really crappy list.

	and you should deal with people having different opinions than yours and guardians. incidentally, it seems that there are more opinions disagreeing with this list than agreeing. if guardian keeps churning out lists like this one, they will most definitely lose validity in MANY peoples eyes.

	I'm fine with that. If you'd said "I don't agree with the opinions on this list" then that's fine, what I'm not fine with is you saying someone should be ashamed of themselves and that the list is a joke because they don't agree with you.

	You totally missed my point. Yes, other opinions are fine, but I just can't think of any reasonable criteria where a film like "There's Something about Mary" or "Clueless". Regardless of taste. Hell, "Clueless" wasn't EVEN the best Shakespeare high school romantic comedy adaptation of the 90s, (that would be "10 Things I Hate About You") let alone of the greatest comedies ever. And if you like crazy gross-out comedies, again, I can think of a few dozen better choices than "There's Something about Mary".

	You're missing MY point. The fact that you think Clueless wasn't the best 'Shakespeare high school romantic comedy adaptation of the 90s' is YOUR opinion. This list was decided on by a group of critics who work for a respectable newspaper. This is their opinion. They're not choosing these films just to spite you.

	I am well aware of how this list chosen. I am just noting that by any criteria, it's completely inconsistent, and thus is lousy. If someone made a list of greatest sports films and put, say, "The Blind Side" as #1 and didn't even include "Brian's Song" or the original "The Longest Yard", that would be garbage, no? Same thing here. By the way, "group of critics" is another term for "worthless, idiot shills", especially nowadays.

	I'm bored of this so I'm posting the same message on all of these Guardian quizzes. The Guardian is a well established and respected (by most) newspaper in Britain. To celebrate the end of their film season, they're taking a genre for every day of this week and collating lists of the 25 films THEY THINK are the best in that genre. Obviously there are 7 days in every week and therefore have had to combine some genres and miss some out altogether. At no point do they ever say that their lists are definitive. In fact, they have specific pages to let them know what you think of their list and to suggest what you think the list should be. Nobody's opinions in this are right or wrong. Plus it's a British newspaper so tastes will be different to a similar list in America just as I would expect this list to be different in Belarus or North Korea (although I've heard they love Team America over there). All I intended to do was to create some quizzes for people to try and guess what they put in their lists. That is all. 	Ugh. Christ. You continue to ignore what myself and others have written. It doesn't matter whether The Guardian is respected by liberals in the UK or not. This list specifically SUCKS. Not everyone posts such a comment about the plethora of list quizzes on Sporcle, so the fact that most of the replies here are about this should tell you something. Namely, use a different list/source next time.

	And you've ignored what I said. The fact that you think this quiz "sucks" is your opinion, it is neither right nor wrong. And most of the replies on this quiz are from 2 people. I'm not saying I agree with the list either but I accept that it is someone else's opinion and I'm not going to criticize someone's taste. And the quiz is the Guardian's best comedy films, there is no other list or source of that.
