This should not be in literature. Good quiz, though.

There are a bunch of significant characters missing, specifically Bellatrix.

Wow, I was so sure I had included Bellatrix! So thanks, 30sarah, and also midwesterndiva, sccopp, and eliza, all the required changes have been made! Please keep all the contructive criticism coming, especially characters I have missed! Thanks guys!

Although, actually, on second thought, I have kept this quiz in the literature section, as it is really a quiz on naming characters, with the actors as hints = it's still, in theory, relating to the books.

No Arthur Weasley? The rest don't really matter, but Arthur is kind of important.

It would seem to be appropriate to include Brendan Gleeson and John Hurt, given their reputations outside of the HP franchise.

Why would you omit Imelda Staunton's Professor Umbridge? She's an Oscar nominee and gave one of the best performances in the franchise.

And of course the great Robert Hardy, Miriam Margolyes, Zoe Wanamaker, Dawn French, Robbie Coltrane, Miranda Richardson, Rik Mayall, Pam Ferris, Brendan Gleeson. All legends. Lenny Henry even poked his head in at one stage - ho ho.

Too many child actors, not enough adult ones. Should definitely have Gleeson, Hurt, Staunton, Tennant, Hardy, Margoyles, Richardson, Mark Williams, Rhys Ifans. I'd think it should also be Christian Coulson instead of Hero Fiennes-Tiffin for Tom Riddle.

I did great in the first column - not so great in the second. I have to question why you included Susan Bones, Lavender Brown, and age 11 Tom Riddle, who were minor parts played by heretofore unknown actors... while leaving out more substantial parts played by much more well known actors - Moody, Ollivander, and Rita Skeeter in particular.

Well considering you've got Daniel Radcliffe as your profile picture Blimpyboy that makes me feel less bad about my performance. I aced the first column too but only got a couple in the second one. And I've only seen the first three movies

Susan Bones really needs to not be on here. She was in the movie and books for very brief moments. Instead, how about Moody, Greyback, Umbridge, Quirrell?

I agree about Susan Bones. A quiz including a mix of obscure and prominent movie characters is fine (or a quiz of only obscure characters), but just having one obscure character is an odd choice. Dean Thomas is verging on obscure, but at least he's had some lines in the films.

Personally, I thought it was a good quiz...nice mix of the really famous and not-so-famous. And as for Susan, I thought it was fine having her, considering, if I recall correctly, she's the only American actress in the series because of her relation to Christopher Columbus who directed the first couple movies.

Umbridge? older Tom Riddle? I'm surprised David Tennant was also left off of this list for his portrayal of Barty Crouch Jr.

I think including some obscure characters was fine... wouldn't have been at all challenging otherwise. A few didn't come to me right away, but I only had to guess on Dean Thomas.

@TerryWilhelmer: same here...that was the only one i missed...i know its not cool to advertise my game on another quiz, but seeing as a lot of people are wanting more characters, i have mad a quiz that has the (top) 160 characters and their actors/actresses...

I don't think anybody has mentioned David Bradley as Filch yet. I think he'd make a good addition. And I agree that Dolores Umbridge should be added.
