Love it. The whole world said NZ would perform the worst in the tournament and said we didnt deserve to be there. But how many teams in the history of the World Cup can boast an unbeaten run?

Yeah you can boast about your unbeaten run on the place home...

Though I agree with you. They did fantastically well, considering they're a bunch of football league journeymen. To finish above Italy was a remarkable achievement.

You need to accept the full "United States" as an alternative answer.

I always called it Netherlands, but instead I typed Holland. Although not offical name, could it be a possible one?

Good topical quiz and what not but 5 minutes is far too much time; one could very easily name all of the teams in the thing. I'd say two or even one minute would suffice for nine answers.

Holland is not the Netherlands.

But it should be an acceptable alternative. Even the commentators say Holland sometimes too. Also @cantbuymelunch: Thats the reason why we can say we are unbeaten. If we had gone to round 2 we would have lost. To be honest most NZers were actually thinking the same thing as everyone else. We were as surprised as anyone hahah. Even the All Blacks have only had one unbeaten run at a rugby world cup

Most New Zealanders were probably shouting at the screen: "Pick it up and run with it!" (to quote some Kiwi comedian on Mock the Week)

Though Holland is NOT the Netherlands (only two provinces), even there they will use it to refer to the country. The overwhelming cheer for Oranje is "Hup Holland"! So, Hup Holland and Go Oranje, etc! This has been a great WC so far for me. Italy and France go home early, Brazil out, Netherlands in the semis, and it was Netherlands who beat Brazil. :-) Revenge for '98.

Brazil played better than the Netherlands in '98 and '10. Sneijder is incredible but a little lucky!

@lekkermeisje: you may think that it has been a great world cup, but surely a great world cup would be one that is remembered for great football; not teams in ruins, controversial decisions or stupid vuvuzelas.

Holland (as any self-respecting soccer fan calls them) were far superior to Brazil's cheating whingebags in the second half and deserved the victory. Brazil should have had at least 2 guys sent off, while Robinho is an severely over-rated cry-baby who will hopefully disappear into obscurity... and I'm a United fan!

Sorry that should read "Robinho is a severely over-rated cry-baby who will hopefully disappear into obscurity" Even without the grammatical error, it still needed saying twice.

People clearly don't enjoy your link, just look at your comment scores! Good quiz, but please accept just "US".

Compared to the other 31 countries, New Zealand was by far the weakest. So the fact that they finished with 3 draws was impressive in itself and any haters who hate on them, well lol @ them. They were expected to go 0-0-3 so for them, 3 points was a huge accomplishment especially when you include a draw with the Reigning World Cup champions Italy.

Well actually i think 3 draws would be a fantastic result for almost any country. excluding the big ones obviously but countries like South Africa, Greece, even Australia. Now though NZ could easily become the only unbeaten team at the 2010 World Cup if Spain should win. Im actually half Dutch so I want the Netherlands to win but Spain winning has its positives hahah

@Sheldon Why would Australia getting 3 draws (3 points) be a fantastic result if they had a win, a draw, and a loss (4 points) and were disappointed with that?
