| @sinatra22 and megascarp--there is a direct connection between educational opportunities for women and number of children. In countries where women are free, equal, and educated, childbirth rates go down. Of course, it is also related to economic opportunities--people who are more affluent tend to have fewer children. If you want to do something about overpopulation, work for equality and economic freedom for all--especially women. (Sorry about the rant. It's a pet cause of mine.) |
