I recently saw chocolate laffy taffy. It might have been for halloween so I would understand that it is not acceptable, but you can never be too sure...?!

This quiz is so sweet.
Jan 10th, 2012 at 09:48 GMT
despite what they may claim, smarties only come in one flavor, "sugar."
Jan 10th, 2012 at 18:11 GMT
arent smarties just chocolate, i swear they dont have a distint flavor, just colors
Jan 10th, 2012 at 21:24 GMT
@sannruffolo - there are (at least) two different kinds of smarties. One kind is fruity like sweet tarts and the other kind is chocolate like m&m's. Maybe it should say American smarties?
Jan 10th, 2012 at 22:06 GMT
Its a pretty good quiz

This quiz just rotted my teeth.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 04:10 GMT
Since when do smarties have flavors?
Jan 12th, 2012 at 04:22 GMT
Wait... do I have to brush my teeth again after taking this quiz?

Smarties have flavors and are hard sugary candy when they live in the United States. They put on the colorful coats over chocolate when they live in Canada (and I think in the UK and Australia too).

Great quiz. Only two quibbles: can "coke" perhaps be an accepted answer for "cola" ("pepsi" too, maybe)? And can you specify that you mean American Smarties, maybe by putting "(US)" after it? Thanks for a fun quiz!

Don't worry folks, Bart Simpson assured me that there is no sugar in pixy stix.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 05:16 GMT
@thebirdgirl: Coke and Pepsi aren't flavors. They're brand names. Cola is the name of the flavor.

Maui punch; the forgotten and neglected step brother of the Pixy Stix family.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 06:16 GMT
I admit...I got desperate at the end and tried "Sugar" as a flavor.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 06:25 GMT
Smarties come in crushed beetle flavour.

If I'd known there is a "p" in raspberry, I'd have done much better. How did I get to be 40 y.o. without knowing how to spell raspberry?

I have no idea why I guessed bacon when it popped into my head, but now I think about it...
Jan 12th, 2012 at 10:41 GMT
There are more flavors of jolly rancher than that, definitely including Peach, and I think a couple more.

I'm going to tell my mother that despite her attempt at bringing me up right, my childhood vegetable-based diet has seriously hindered me out here in real life.

I think what birdgirl might have been getting at is that in many regions of the country coke is the word most people use regardless of the type of cola, it has become genericized like xerox or bandaid....I think accepting it as an answer would be fine even if that isn't what is printed on the package as there are a good number of people who don't know there is a difference between coke and plain cola. I've literally been in restaurants where people ask what kind of coke they have (and they mean what flavors of soda/cola regardless of if it is a coke product.)
Jan 12th, 2012 at 14:55 GMT
For Cola, I tried so many different things, Coke, soda, pop. I never thought of cola being the actual name.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 15:29 GMT
Bah, grape - the difference between getting 66 right and getting 75 right. What's weird is that here in the UK, we don't really have grape flavoured ANYTHING. Not much cherry either, and they're the best ones! I'm not sure if we're allowed less artificial flavourings or E-numbers or what...but any time I travel to the States I'm like, well, a kid in a sweet shop!
Jan 12th, 2012 at 15:36 GMT
I typed sour apple, and it gave me regular apple. I was vexed when my time ran out and two "green apples" popped up.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 15:37 GMT
@Cecispanda yeah, there are a lot more Skittles flavors too, but in the "original flavors" packages there's only those.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 16:14 GMT
@YameemSoda: I just typed in "apple" and it gave me the entire lot.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 16:29 GMT
This quiz made me research to find out that they don't make Lemon Jolly Ranchers anymore. Those were my favorite! :(

All smarties taste the same: bad.

Only heard of Smarties, Skittles and M&Ms
Jan 12th, 2012 at 17:17 GMT
I'm guessing that grape is just in US Skittles? As here in the UK I'm sure the purple is blackcurrant. If it's not it's a very blackcurranty sort of grape.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 17:26 GMT
Purple is a flavor.
Jan 12th, 2012 at 17:37 GMT
damn you fruit punch!
Comment below threshold:
Jan 12th, 2012 at 17:39 GMT
Why would anyone want flavoured Smarties? Wouldn't that conflict with the chocolate?
Jan 12th, 2012 at 17:45 GMT
Why can't Fruit punch net you Maui punch?
Jan 12th, 2012 at 18:03 GMT
@Kitimat88:You're correct, and the same goes for the rest of Europe. I bought a regular package of Skittles in France and the purple was clearly labeled as blackcurrant. In Canada, it's the same as US, natch.
