I recently saw chocolate laffy taffy. It might have been for halloween so I would understand that it is not acceptable, but you can never be too sure...?!

@sannruffolo - there are (at least) two different kinds of smarties. One kind is fruity like sweet tarts and the other kind is chocolate like m&m's. Maybe it should say American smarties?

Smarties have flavors and are hard sugary candy when they live in the United States. They put on the colorful coats over chocolate when they live in Canada (and I think in the UK and Australia too).

Great quiz. Only two quibbles: can "coke" perhaps be an accepted answer for "cola" ("pepsi" too, maybe)? And can you specify that you mean American Smarties, maybe by putting "(US)" after it? Thanks for a fun quiz!

@thebirdgirl: Coke and Pepsi aren't flavors. They're brand names. Cola is the name of the flavor.

If I'd known there is a "p" in raspberry, I'd have done much better. How did I get to be 40 y.o. without knowing how to spell raspberry?

I think what birdgirl might have been getting at is that in many regions of the country coke is the word most people use regardless of the type of cola, it has become genericized like xerox or bandaid....I think accepting it as an answer would be fine even if that isn't what is printed on the package as there are a good number of people who don't know there is a difference between coke and plain cola. I've literally been in restaurants where people ask what kind of coke they have (and they mean what flavors of soda/cola regardless of if it is a coke product.)

Bah, grape - the difference between getting 66 right and getting 75 right. What's weird is that here in the UK, we don't really have grape flavoured ANYTHING. Not much cherry either, and they're the best ones! I'm not sure if we're allowed less artificial flavourings or E-numbers or what...but any time I travel to the States I'm like, well, a kid in a sweet shop!

@Cecispanda yeah, there are a lot more Skittles flavors too, but in the "original flavors" packages there's only those.

I'm guessing that grape is just in US Skittles? As here in the UK I'm sure the purple is blackcurrant. If it's not it's a very blackcurranty sort of grape.

@Kitimat88:You're correct, and the same goes for the rest of Europe. I bought a regular package of Skittles in France and the purple was clearly labeled as blackcurrant. In Canada, it's the same as US, natch.
