Superb quiz as always, I've been wanting to see something like this on Sporcle for ages. However, as the amateur politician I am, I simply have to whine. This quiz suffers from the fact that you don't have a category for "partially recognized, non-UN countries". Such a category would include Abkhazia, Kosovo, Nagorno-Karabakh, Northern Cyprus, Palestine, the SADR (Western Sahara), Somaliland, South Ossetia, Taiwan and Transnistria. At the moment, most of these are labeled as "de facto countries" (which can mean practically anything; the Principality of Sealand could be called a "de facto country"), Northern Cyprus is an "administrative division", Kosovo and Taiwan are independent countries (which isn't incorrect, but if they are to fall within this category, then so should Abkhazia, South Ossetia etc) and Palestine (the West Bank and the Gaza Strip) are in the obscure category of "other".
TLDR: Superb quiz, but you've got a job to do before the nitpickers among us are satisfied. |
