| Good quiz. It's made easier by the fact that there are only 4 continents with landlocked countries, with roughly equal numbers being in Europe, Asia and Africa and then the two in South America. I've just noticed that both Africa and Europe have something in common that the Americas, Asia and Australasia do not - that is (Russia excluded) the lack of a small number of very large countries covering a very large portion of the continent's area. Such countries include Russia, Canada, the USA, Brazil, China, India and Australia. If these were broken up into smaller countries, then there would definitely be more landlocked countries. Excluding Russia, neither Europe or Africa possess a single, stand-out country that clearly dwarfs all the others in size. |
