| @Beatlezfann: I, very respectfully, disagree. The NBA is a globally marketed organization. MLB is only known in a few nations widely. The main issue with baseball and softball is that, despite inclusion in the Olympics, there was really no improvement being shown in the non-traditional powers. You could be assured that the US, Cuba, Japan, and select from: Canada, Venezuela, South Korea, and Mexico were going to be in medal contention. That means whole swaths of South America, Africa, Europe, and most of Europe would not be tuning in. MLB stars, I think, would not change this. I think that is the main reason baseball & softball were dropped. |
