	cool quiz! question: why is france accepted for mauritius? mauritius was british after 1810, well before the scramble for africa. if france is accepted, i think the netherlands should be too. also, i had NO IDEA equatorial guinea was spanish!!!

	Togo was a German colony before WWI (Togoland), as well as Burundi, Tanzania... It became a Franch colony after the treaty of Versailles. Namibia was some kind of South African colony unitl 1990.

	Liberia was a US colony for 26 years in the early 19th century but it gained independance decades before the Scramble for Africa. It was also the only West African country that the European powers didn't try to colonize.

	The Italians did have a good go at trying to colonize Ethiopia but they failed and afterwards no one else attempted it.

	Mussolini's Italy did occupy Ethiopia from 1936-1941 but it wasn't "technically" colonized the same way Nazi Germany occupied several European countries during WWII

	All of modern Togo was put under French rule following WWI, so France should work as an answer.

	If you’re going to be enough of a stickler about the dates for the Scramble of Africa that you won’t accept France for Togo or Britain for Namibia, you shouldn’t accept other territorial changes that happened after the outset of World War I—Britain and France for Cameroon, Belgium for Rwanda and Burundi, Italy for Ethiopia, and any others. (The U.S. certainly shouldn’t be taken for Liberia either.) Also, if possible, emphasize the “Scramble for Africa” part and change the title of the quiz to reflect that—I saw the title and immediately started naming former colonial powers, which is something different.

	Why not accept "Liberia" for Liberia and "Ethiopia" for Ethiopia? Even from the perspective of "colonizing territory," both of these governments took part in the conquest of many indigenous groups. Ethiopia's southern regions were not part of Ethiopia for most of its history, and Liberia of course started out as the initiative of a foreign organization.

	If both Germany and UK are going to be listed correct answers for Ghana, then Nigeria needs to be UK/Germany and Togo needs to be Germany/France. Technically the Scramble for Africa was before WW1, so those alternate answers aren't really valid. So alternate answers either need to be added or removed, for consistency/accuracy sake.
