| Rondo had a great year, but a lot of this vote comes down to media coverage, and the narrative this year for the Celtics has been about the "big 3"s injuries and inconsistency, not Rondo's ability to raise the team above those things. If I was picking someone from the Grizzlies, it would be either Zach Randolph or Gerald Wallace, just for their consistency. I also thought someone like Russell Westbrook deserved some love, Brandon Roy too, and Derrick Rose.
Re: the people talking about how an MVP is someone surrounded by less talent, tell that to Shaq, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and almost any all time great. For that matter, Howard, Durant, Kobe and Nash, from this year's top 6. The argument that an MVP isn't surrounded by talent holds no water. |
