	Stephen Jackson getting a fifth-place vote is a travesty. It's not up there with "Fred Hickman gives Allen Iverson the only first place vote that didn't go to Shaq in 2000" as far as stupidity is concerned, but... it's incredibly stupid.

	Agreed. Only reason I got Jackson was by typing in all the common names like Jones, Johnson, Jackson, Williams, Smith to see if something came up for that last spot.

	You people are stupid. When Jackson was traded to Charlotte, the Bobcats immediately got better and the Warriors immediately got worse. If that doesn't spell "valuable" enough to get even a FIFTH place then I dont know what is. Again, it was a 5th place vote, it doesnt mean ****. This aint no "travesty"

	If anyone deserved a vote on the Bobcats it would be Gerald Wallace, not Stephen Jackson (and I know because I'm a huge Bobcat fan). Stephen Jackson didn't single-handedly improve the Bobcats, it was more of a "final piece of the puzzle" thing. And @mcory: The only reason Rajon Rondo is even close to an All-Star is because he's on the Celtics.

	mcory- rondo did not have a better season than Lebron or Durant or Kobe or Howard. I will agree (hesitantly) about the rest, but the reason he did not get any votes was because of everyone else on his team. When you have two other all-stars on your team, there is no chance that you will win MVP. An you might say that Lebron doesn't deserve it because he has shaq and mo williams, but when you are the only all star on the best team in the league, you clearly are the most valuable to your team.

	I was also surprised Rondo didn't manage any votes - regardless of being surrounded by all time greats it was Rondo who held that team together this season and elevated his game to another level. More valuable than at least a couple of guys on there. It's not such a travesty that Jackson is on there, although I have to admit I tried Wallace first, and I would think he was the bobcats more valuable player.

	It's a stretch to say the least to have Jax in here... I'd put Rondo over him, or perhaps Bogut... or even Gerald Wallace, who was a rebounding monster and a key defensive option for the 'Cats.

	@disseminator I don't know about you, but I was dissapointed with Gerald Wallace's contributions for the Grizzlies this year. I watched a Grizzlies/Bobcats game this year, and it seemed like he was doing more to help the Cats win than the Griz.

	Stephen Jackson wasn't that bad of a choice given that he did average 21 points per game and helped the Bobcats make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. It was better than Ginobili who had a horrible first half of the season and only started to play that well late in the year.

	I think it's interesting to see Chris Paul's name missing from the list. I'm not arguing he should have votes- he hardly played, after all- but his injury really showed how valuable he is to his team when he's on the court.

	It's unfortunate that 7 people didn't give first place votes to LeBron had the Idiot Torch taken away from them by the guy who gave Stephen Jackson a fifth place vote. Look, I'm a Bobcats fan, and sure the guy's good...but there is absolutely no way that Captain Jack was the fifth, or even the eighth best player in the league this year. Whoever voted for Jackson most likely voted for LeBron, Durant, Kobe, and Dwight Howard, which means he probably left off Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Steve Nash, and Deron Williams. And speaking as a Bobcats fan...there is no way that Jackson was better than any of those guys this year.

	And by the way, my ballot this year would have been (in order) LeBron, Durant, Howard, Kobe, Deron Williams. Wade and Nash just miss the top 5.

	Ye Stephen Jackson is a good player and made that Bobcats team better, but Wallace was their best player this season and still don't think he deserved a well. There a bunch of other players who deserved a vote e.g. Boozer or Roy. King James is the undisputed winner for me though. Don't think Dwight should be that high he needs to score more points to be a real contender. @Pat19 CP3 is an excellent player, but collison and thornton came in and did a more than capable job at covering for him. Paul is obviously a better player right now, but the Hornets are lacking other players to be a top team.

	@XBigWill1X Yes Collison and Thronton filled in the stat-sheet with Paul out, but the Hornets had a winning record with Paul and were 9 games under .500 without him.

	To play devil's advocate and offer the other side of the argument for Manu and Stephen Jackson: think of how bad the Spurs were playing till Ginobili came back and played like he did. That really turned San Antonio's year around. The same is true with Stephen Jackson - Charlotte was spinning in mediocrity or worse till he showed up and helped push the Bobcats into the playoffs. No, they're not MVP's, but their respective contributions were considerable.

	Manu was 10th in Player Efficiency Rating ("Most Outstanding Player") and 18th in Win Shares ("Most Valuable Player"), so it's not crazy that he got a vote. However, he was below Tim Duncan on both.
