| A couple things: first, your source is at least a decade old. It's measuring data from 1998-2000. Second, it only lists 62 countries. I know part of that is probably due to some countries not keeping statistics on murder rates, but it still skews things.
A lot of those European countries probably don't even rank in the top 30 if all 195 countries all included. I have a hard time imagining Finland as a particularly violent country. |
