Got 27/81 and still finished in the 99th percentile. Guess not many people know most of these names.

It's definitely hard. I guess for me part of the joy of Sporcle is getting the results at the end and going, "SHELVIE? Really!?" It's also fascinating to see which things people get right. Shandra sounds at least as obscure as Shaylee to me but a lot more people got it! I have thought about limiting these to a higher popularity though, maybe top 500.

i like that you designed it to automatically show you all the other alternate spellings. i hate spending most of a quiz trying to think of every possible, bizarre way to spell "Hailey" or "Caitlin"

Spell check just had a heart attack.

Oh my word...people seriously call their children Shep, Shepherd and Shafter?! In the UK Shep is a stereotypical sheepdog's name, and Shafter just sounds like someone who shafts people (ie. defeats them through deceit). Interesting quiz

Shep/herd is not that uncommon in the US, though between the character on Lost and a distant relative of mine, it's a name I associate entirely with mean old white men. Also Surprised not to see more hebrew names (Shlomo, Shmuel) on the list.

Relieved not to see Shark on there. Yet.
