	Well, this is not easy. I want to be sure it's known that considerable effort was spent figuring out what to include. I went back and forth on several things, such as whether names for grape varieties should count. I wanted to focus primarily on names which have no other possible derivation than the plant. However, I did include a couple which have other derivations because they are common.

	Most of these, though unusual and alot of them would never be my own choice of name, I can sort of see why parents might choose them. Even Belladonna, I can believe that parents just didn't know that it's another name for deadly nightshade and just thought they'd stick two other girls names together. But PLUM??? my husband uses that as a mild insult for if I've done something silly - 'you're such a plum'!

	I was just thinking that a quiz like this would be neat! A lot of these names are actually quite nice, but some of them, not so much. Hawthorn didn't make it (and it doesn't seem all that weird as a name, I was surprised not to see it), but apparently Tulip was good enough for 7 babies? Those girls are going to get some really awful teasing in school...

	Great quiz idea - and clearly lots of thought/effort! I can't believe there's no Petunia - fewer than five Petunias in the whole country? Also kind of expected Primrose (from Hunger Games fans if nothing else). Very fun, in any event.

	A nitpick: Your note gave away 2 names. I'm not sure it's necessary to use examples, but at most you only need one. You could just say proper spellings only or something. I love the quiz and really appreciate the time you put into it.

	I've been going through other databases that include all the names of children born that year and you wouldn't believe the plant ones I've come across... Orchidaceae, Miosotis, Sweetpea, Tangerine, Peach, Mandarin, Leek, Lemon, Kiwi, Jonquil, Jackpine, Huckleberry, Hickory, Eufrasia, Cactus, Bracken, Bluebell, Balsam, Anemone, Almond... I'm surprised Mahogany, Clary, Cayenne, Cinnamon, Herb, Noni, Quince, Shallon, and Taro weren't popular enough. I think Ebony should be included though.

	I was surprised Hyacinth wasn't on here, but I suppose it is rather old-fashioned now, and there's the unfortunate association now with Hyacinth Bucket.

	@JoelleJay - ooh, thanks for the tip on Ebony. I had filed every name only once and that one went under "colors" and then I forgot about it. It's been added. @Sophicmuse - I was slightly more reluctant to add Liana as the usual derivation is as a short form of Juliana or as Lee + Anna, but went ahead with it. :)

	@JoelleJay again - a couple of the others you mentioned where there but I had filed them under color and place names. One I had just missed. Others I hadn't heard of...getting a little worried about filling it up with plants that I'm not sure are familiar enough; thoughts?

	I can understand no little Lobelia's or Petunia's, but surely there were more than five named Angelica, Nigella, Jade, Veronica, Melissa, and Daphne.

	Really enjoyed this and appreciate the thought that went into the names included. One boy's name that could be added is timothy, a type of grass.
