Please allow Chennai for Madras and Kolkata for Calcutta (names have officially changed, though the UN apparently hasn't kept up).

Ahh, the year 2015, when we're all going to have flying cars and super long sleeved jackets that can dry themselves.

Thought the same about Guangzhou. Going from 10 million to less than 7 in 5 years?

Seoul's number isn't the metro area like the rest of them, it's the city proper. Seoul metro has around 23 million right now.

I'd like to see a source, because I'm fairly certain that Taipei should be on here.

Istanbul and Moscow are both solely in Europe. The countries they are in share continents

Istanbul is in Europe and Asia. this is correct. Moscow is only in Europe, but Russia does indeed span Asia and Europe

What's the source? There are plenty of places that have over 7 million as of today that aren't on this list.

The name of the city is Chennai, not Madras, and Chennai is what should be displayed (although both should be accepted). Same for Kolkata.

Chicago had over 9.5 million people in 2008, so I am not sure how it could lose 2 million people in 5 years.

If you are going to use Calcutta and and Madras then you should be consistent and use Bombay, not Mumbai, either use colonial names or new names, not a mixture. Also Moscow is by all known definitions in Europe, a long way west of the Ural Mountains and their drainage basin the two most commonly used boundaries of Europe and Asia.

Good quiz. Surprised to miss SHenzen. Its urban area has more than 14 inhabitants according to recent census. Can't imagine they will leave any time soon.
