Lol, I hear you. That's the problem with these games. If you don't spell something perfectly, you're screwed, even if you know what you mean and you have the right answer.

it's their proper name... if you're going to accept anything, accept habs for the canadiens (it may already, i haven't tried) and believe me, i'm not a hockey fan.

Canadiens should be the one and only answer. If "Canadians" were aceepted, you might as well have "Red Socks" and "Maple Leaves". They're not correct.

After awhile, you'll start seeing more and more people ask about nicknames, like Broadway Blueshirts, Pens, Broadstreet Bullies and the like. To me, stick with their true names, nicknames could be another quiz down the road.

I don't see any problem with not accepting "Canadians," but for these sports teams in general I don't see why city name shouldn't be acceptable.

"Canadians" isn't accepted because that isn't the team name. It's that simple. Like Jason said, the Red Sox aren't the Red Socks for a reason. It's part of the team history. The hockey club is even pronounced with the "e" instead of the "a". It's the team name.

I don't watch Hockey, but luckily Sportscenter covers Hockey just enough that I know all of the teams. Almost missed San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets, just because I was thinking of cities with other major sports teams.

@fsmra7: you can't use cities to identify teams in general because of multi-team cities. If someone typed in New York thinking Rangers, they might've forgotten the Isles but would've been given them. It's not much harder to write the team name anyway.

How is it that 7% of people missed the Rangers and 13% missed the Leafs? Why would you take an NHL quiz if you know absolutely nothing about hockey?

Me being a Sabre's fan, I am a little annoyed that the Blue and Gold are only 67.9% guessed right. I almost missed the Coyotes, they stink anyway (no offense to Coyote fans)

So Hockey fans out there. This quiz is like ranked #7 most popular. Its below Baseball and Basketball. How about if we all make an effort to get it below Football. WHOS WITH ME!

I hate hockey, but only missed Buffalo. It's not like they count anyways. When was the last time that city was relevant in a major sport. ;o) Kidding.

The French name of the team in Montreal is Canadien (singular). If you're going to accept Caps, you should accept that. I did not try the Senateurs for Ottawa.
