Typical: I got Utica and Duluth, but missed Detroit.

Amazing that a place in Arizona gets more snow than anywhere but central upstate New York. What makes Syracuse so much more snowy than nearby Buffalo, Rochester and Utica?

Bonuses need to come at the very end, otherwise they screw up the stats. This "by population" format is a good way to present a weather quiz; nicely done. @chriskotx: it's the way the wind typically blows off of the lakes and gets shifted around by the topography; some bands end up with heavier lake-effect snow than others.

@thedpr-thanks a lot for that heads up. I was wondering why everyone who'd taken this quiz missed DENVER.

@thedpr: Thanks, I know about lake-effect. Aren't Buffalo and Rochester a lot closer to the lakes than Syracuse? *still scratching head*

To whoever gave this one globe, it would be appreciated if you left a comment saying why.

the data is pretty bad. Compare to the other snowfall quiz just posted and the numbers are different. I happen to know the average here in Rochester is almost exactly 100 inches, I know Buffalo is about 98, Syracuse 121. Flagstaff (I was just there) is way below what is shown, These numbers are simply ...wrong (But the quiz is fine, it wasn't me who gave the single globe)

@tomohaha-one thing i've learned in the course of making this quiz is that no can seem to agree on the exact avergae snowfall for many cities. the reason I chose my source (NCDC/NOAA) was because they were the only site that had believable climate data for almost every city. You also have to take into account that many databases get their snowfall data from different locations in the same city (for example, theres almost a four inch snowfall difference between downtown Omaha and the Omaha airport)-that's why the numbers seem a bit skewed from what you think they should be. If you make a quiz about city snowfall, you'll see how frustrating the data can be.

First time I've ever missed my hometown on a Sporcle quiz. I'm ashamed of myself.
