	this was a particularly difficult quiz to make, since so many different sites and articles contradicted eachother when talking about what languages were made official and in what regions-this was especially the problem when i was researching spain and france

	@ren-Galician, Basque, and Catalan are recognized regional languages, but Spanish is the only national official language in Spain.

	After a certain point this became an exercise in guessing the most likely demonyms for these regions, which more often than not turned out to also be the right answer. Still enjoyable and informative. I was unaware some of these dialects or languages existed.

	In the Netherlands Limburgish (since 1997) and Low Saxon (since 1996) are recognized as regional languages to a certain degree. Although the minister did not want to give them the same status as Frisian (bilingual signs, ability to use language in court/government etc.)

	This is a fun quiz, and I can really appreciate all the research that went into this. In Sardinia, Sardinian is not exactly the official language, but is approved for official use. Would that qualify it?

	Since the US doesn't have an official language, you could actually list English as one of its languages, as well.

	Yeah, there have got to be some places in the US/UK where English is official on a local level, even though it isn't at a national level in either case.

	Please accept "Gaelic" for "Scottish Gaelic." Especially as it's usually just called Gaelic; and because the "other" Gaelic is simply called "Irish" on this quiz.

	@marpocky, according to WP, 28 out of 50 US states have named English as the (or an) official language. What this actually means varies between states.

	@marpocky-technically I could, but the point of this quiz is to highlight languages that aren't associated with a country on the national level, and English is often considered to be a de facto national official language

	Nice idea for a quiz, but it's spoilt somewhat by the fact that you can get most of the answers by just guessing a suffix to add to the placename.

	@newenglander: ok, so you only accept languages that are official in the whole country. I mentioned Galician, Catalan and Basque because they are official according to the Spanish constitution, but obviously only in the regions where they are spoken. The problem is that some other regional languages like Asturian or Aranese aren't in the constution, so the legal recognition of the Spanish regional languages in the quiz is actually different. But it's ok, I know what you mean now :)
