	What's your source? I grew up in CT and no one said jimmies, wicked, leef-peeper, flatlander, hamburg, draw, or basement. Possibly these are Boston-speak words?

	@boyochels-im also from connecticut, and yes, a lot of those words are absent here because of the new york influence. some of the words i learned about from a page on the worcester MA website, so they are more common by boston. however im surprised youve never heard of jimmies or leaf-peepers-even where i live close to the new york border i hear those all the time. and wicked is common not just in boston but in a lot of areas in northern NE

	I've lived in Northern CT and all over for a really long time and I've never heard jimmies, tonic, flantlander, leef-peeper, draw or basement used commonly except from older people and still not so much then. Also alot of us say highway but alot of the Massachusetts people do say turnpike so I did recognize that better. The rest I hear pretty much normally, especially wicked which I say all the time and have been forever lol. But yeah, this seems to be more slanted towards Boston, Eastern MA and Northern New England a bit.

	I live in RI and used to live in Boston and have never heard leaf-peeper, basement (for bathroom), flatlander, tonic, or green. Should have included bubbler for water fountain (RI thing) and cabinet as a milkshake. Good call on the Jimmies though.

	Vessel/ship aren't just New England, and aren't that common there. A brook is a type of stream everywhere; a turnpike is specifically a toll road, and is used in many other places, and sneaker is a term used all across America pretty frequently. I'm pretty sure "draw" is just because of the dropped "r" in the accent. I've never heard basement, flatlander, or leaf peeper, and I'm from just outside Boston. And, finally, Jimmies are only chocolate sprinkles

	Flatlander is pretty specific to Vermont. I've heard it very frequently in that state, but not elsewhere in New England. The only terms I haven't heard are basement and vessel.

	I'm born, raised, and still live just north of the Mass border in NH. I've heard the term flatlander, but never associated it with everyone outside of New England. I've never heard basement used for a school bathroom. As for draw, that may be how we pronounce it, but it's still spelled the same. And I had no idea other people don't call it hamburg or sneakers.
